It's named after after Swami Paramahansa Yogananda because the Self Realization Fellowship ashram is located on the bluff above the point break. Swami Yogananda use to meditate while looking at the surf. The golden-spired Self-Realization Center is an enduring symbol of Encinitas’ positive and spiritual vibe. A great surf break, this spot is highly coveted by local surfers. If you’re a surfing devotee, definitely paddle out and join the line.
