 Increasing crime in Encinitas

The overall crime rate in Encinitas per 1,000 residents at the mid-year point in June was up 6 percent from mid-year 2015, with a 34 percent drop in the city’s violent crime rate and but an 11 percent increase in the city’s property crime rate, according to SANDAG. The overall crime rate in Encinitas has dropped 20 percent since 2012, the report shows.
