California’s Roadmap to Modify the Stay-at-Home Order
Earlier today the Governor released California’s “Roadmap to Modify the Stay-at-Home Order.” It outlines six key indicators that we will have to reach in order to make it safe for us to return to normal life in a methodical and sustainable way:
- The ability to monitor and protect our communities through testing, contact tracing, isolating, and supporting those who are positive or exposed.
- The ability to prevent infection in people who are at risk for more severe COVID-19.
- The ability of the hospital and health systems to handle surges.
- The ability to develop therapeutics to meet the demand.
- The ability for businesses, schools, and childcare facilities to support physical distancing.
- The ability to determine when to reinstitute certain measures, such as the stay-at-home orders, if necessary.
While we continue staying home and flattening the curve in Encinitas, we are giving those on the front lines time to build our healthcare capacity, public health infrastructure, and ability to comply with the six steps. By making these preparations and following the Order, we can ensure the health of our people and economy in Encinitas.
