The San Diego & Imperial SBDC Network has developed a training specifically for the LGBTBE Biz Builder program entitled…….LET’S WORK IT! In the world of supplier diversity contracting the hardest hurdle is to get certified. This training shows the how’s and why’s of not only LGBTBE certification, but also introduces you to the world of contracting. The opportunities are available on all levels in government but also in the corporate supplier diversity programs. The SBDC is there to break it down into easy to learn and practical steps. We have the resources to help you navigate this new revenue stream to make it happen.

Although all proposals are different, there are some strategies you can use to create templates when responding to solicitations. Utilizing an actual solicitation and responses; attendees will learn how to create a proposal outline, determine starting costs and research industry standards, how to minimize administrative noncompliance / unresponsiveness, and “insider” tips. “Meet the Buyers” Tour is coming to Carlsbad bringing buyers and small business advocates from agencies, large corporations and prime contractors together to help small businesses work with their organizations successfully. Participants will learn what is expected of vendors; what certifications are and how they work, where to find the buyers and opportunities and how to make an impact marketing their goods and services. These events help small businesses get contracts! There are different buyers and experts at each “Meet the Buyers”. Participating organizations include: SANDAG, DGS, North County Transit District, San Diego Unified School District, Port of San Diego, San Diego Community College District, SPAWAR, NAVFAC, Sundt Construction Company Marine Corps Installations West, Clark Construction, MiraCosta College, County of San Diego, City of San Diego, ViaSat, Metropolitan Transit System, San Diego County Water Authority, San Diego International Airport, Caltrans, San Diego County, North County Transit District, Turner Construction, UC-San Diego, SDG&E, GSA and others.
